Problem detecting USB key

Hi all,

I finally managed to get my Ekey to the data centre yesterday, and plugged it into the USB port on an HP Compaq DL120 running Debian Wheezy (Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64). I have installed the Debian package:

1.1.5-4 Simtec Electronics UDEKEY01 Entropy Key Daemon

This all seems to go fine, but when I run ekeydctl list I get nothing back:

# ekeydctl list
NR,OK,Status,Path,SerialNo

When I check the USB bus, the key isn't detected:

# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub

I've used the Simtec keys before on other boxes, which show it in the USB bus:

Bus 005 Device 002: ID 20df:0001 Simtec Electronics Entropy Key [UDEKEY01]

I was hoping someone with more experience of these devices could comment. Is there anything I can do by way of fault-finding this?

Best wishes,
Michael
